school support services

Weinstein Educational Consulting is committed to every student’s education - both in school and at home. WEC supports schools in the DC-Maryland-Virginia area by staffing and referring a number of roles.

  • Teachers are trained professionals often with graduate-level education. Our Teachers are screened for their educational backgrounds, work experience, and excellent references.

Teachers generally expect compensation packages of $55,000 - $100,000/year (including benefits). Compensation, hours, benefits, and taxes are negotiated directly between the hiring party and educators.

  • Tutors have subject matter expertise and provide in-person instruction in 1-hour sessions, 1-2 days per week, in specialized subjects and skill-building areas.

We evaluate tutors for their education, experience and references, and refer to families based on skills, abilities, and logistics including location and availability.

Private tutors generally charge $80-$130 per hour based on skills, experience, and to accommodate for travel logistics. Compensation, hours, benefits, and taxes are negotiated directly between the hiring party and educators.

  • Enrichment specialists have experience in activities including sports, art, music, and other non-academic recreational activities for all ages. They typically provide enrichment 1-2 hours per day, 1-3 days per week. These services are generally in-person but may also be online.

Specialists are evaluated based on their experiences and interests. They may be enrolled in high school, college, recent college graduates, and/or people who enjoy working with children.

Enrichment specialists typically charge $40-80 per hour for in-person support and $30-60 per hour for remote support. Compensation, hours, benefits, and taxes are negotiated directly between the hiring party and educators.

  • Champions are mentors who partner with students virtually to support them with executive functioning skills and academics.

Executive function is the mental process that allows us to plan, focus attention, remember instructions, and multitask successfully. We aren’t born with these skills; some people need more support than others in developing these skills. This is where WEC Champions come in. The aim of the Champion Program is to provide support in developing these executive function skills.

Champions meet virtually with their matched students 3 times per week, helping to manage syllabi and assignments, support in completing and turning in work on time, and assist with test prep and organization. More importantly, Champions model confidence, competence, and character in getting this work done. Students learn by example. Through the modeling of their WEC Champion, children feel connected in their work, build self-esteem, perform better academically & socially, and no longer battle with parents over schoolwork.

Each session with a Champion is $65. The hiring party should coordinate the schedule directly with their Champion.

  • WEC has partnered with expert family providers, including but not limited to: adult and child psychiatrists, psychologists, speech and language pathologists, family counselors, occupational therapists, and night nurses. WEC’s providers will generally have availability for appointments within 2 weeks of your referral.

Family providers charge widely varying rates. In general, the hiring party can expect to pay between $250-$500 per session with a provider. Some provider fees are covered by insurance, while others are not. The hiring party is encouraged to discuss payment expectations with their provider prior to meeting.
